𝐍𝐀𝐕𝐀𝐆𝐑𝐀𝐇𝐀 𝐃𝐄𝐕𝐀𝐓𝐀 – 𝐀 𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝 :

𝐒𝐮𝐫𝐲𝐚 𝐃𝐞𝐯 (Sun)

Rishi Kashyapa and Mata Aditi are the parents of Surya Dev.
He is the father of Shanidev, Yamraj, Manu, Yamuna, Tapati, Suvarchala Devi, Bhadra, the Ashvini Kumaras, Karna, and the monkey king Sugreeva.
Surya Dev has two wives: Sanjana and Chaaya.
Lord Krishna’s son Samba worshipped Surya to be freed from the curse of leprosy.
The 12 Surya Namaskaras are dedicated to him. He rides a golden chariot pulled by 7 horses driven by Aruna.

𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐫𝐚 𝐃𝐞𝐯 (Moon)

Chandra has no biological parents. He is youthful, handsome, with a slim body, holding a club and lotus, and rides a chariot pulled by ten white horses.
He married the 27 Nakshatra daughters of Daksha Prajapati.
His son Varchas reincarnated as Abhimanyu.
Due to Daksha’s curse, Chandra waxes and wanes.
He established the Somnath Jyotirlinga to seek forgiveness from Shiva.

𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐞𝐯 (Mars)

Son of Lord Shiva and Bhu Mata. Also known as Bhauma.
Short, muscular, red-complexioned; rides a ram.
His wife is Jwalini.
Mangal is the Senapati (Commander) of the Devas.
He blesses one with land, property, and courage.
Temples: Ujjain, Amalner

Son of Chandra and Tara. Greenish, youthful, witty, long-limbed, and rides a lion.
He is the God of intellect, commerce, and communication.

𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐡𝐚𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐢 𝐃𝐞𝐯 (Jupiter)

Son of Rishi Angiras and Shraddha. Yellow in complexion, large body, small eyes, rides an elephant.
Wives: Tara and Shubha. Also known as Devaguru.
Guru of Devatas, bestower of wisdom, Dharma, and fortune.
Rig Veda mentions him as Brahmanaspati.
Pushkar Festival and Guruvar Vrat are in his honour.

Son of Bhrigu Rishi and Kavya Mata, also called Ushana. Guru of Asuras.
Wives: Urjasvati, Jayanti, Sataparva. Daughter: Devyani.
Received Sanjeevani Vidya from Lord Shiva.
Lost one eye due to Lord Vishnu’s Vamana avatar.
Shukra rules wealth, luxury, love, and creativity.
Temple: Kopargaon, Maharashtra

Son of Surya and Chaaya Devi, brother of Yamraj.
Dark, slow-moving, lame, rides a crow. His first glance eclipsed his father.
God of karma, justice, discipline, and patience.
Protector of the poor and oppressed.
Shani Jayanti and Shani Amavasya are his festivals.

Son of Simhika and Viprachitti, real name Swarbhanu.
Cheated in Samudra Manthan and got beheaded by Vishnu.
His head became Rahu — responsible for eclipses.
Rides a lion, has a fearsome appearance.
Associated with illusion, foreign travel, fame, politics.
Temples: Kalahasti, Thirunageshwaram

Formed from the body of Swarbhanu, representing the lower half.
Represents moksha, detachment, past karma.
Raised in Rishi Kashyapa’s Ashram with Rahu.

केतुर्ग्रहीतो वयमश्विनोर्यज्ञेन देवाँ अवसे हुवेम।

🔱 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐨 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐍𝐚𝐯𝐚𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐡𝐚𝐬:

✅ Wake up during Brahma Muhurta (4–6 AM)
✅ Face the ruling direction of the Graha during Japa
✅ Light ghee lamp or sesame oil diya
✅ Offer flowers of associated colour
✅ Chant Navagraha Stotra or individual Graha mantra (108 times)
✅ Offer naivedya (raw rice, jaggery, fruits, etc.)
✅ Do charity on respective weekdays (e.g. black sesame on Saturday for Shani)
✅ Visit respective temples if nearby on their worship day.
